Our Certifications

Anyone can call themselves a roofer. Manufacturer certifications are different — they’re earned, audited, and can be revoked. They require proof of insurance, verified workmanship, ongoing training, and a track record of standing behind the work. Here are the credentials Roov holds, what each one actually means, and why it matters for your home.

GAF Master Elite® Certified Contractor

What it is: GAF is the largest roofing manufacturer in North America. Master Elite is their highest contractor designation, held by fewer than 2% of roofers in the country.

What it means: To carry it, a contractor must be licensed and insured, maintain a strong reputation, and commit to ongoing training. GAF audits this status — it isn’t a one-time badge.

Why it’s important: It’s the gatekeeper to GAF’s strongest warranties. Only Master Elite contractors can offer the Golden Pledge® warranty.

What it means for you: You get a roof installed to the manufacturer’s strictest standard, plus access to warranty coverage that most roofers simply can’t offer — backed by GAF directly, not just by the contractor.

GAF Golden Pledge® Warranty Eligibility

What it is: The Golden Pledge is GAF’s top-tier warranty, available only through Master Elite contractors like Roov.

What it means: It pairs GAF’s strongest material coverage with extended workmanship coverage — including 25-year workmanship (labor) coverage and 50-year non-prorated material defect coverage.

Why it’s important: Most “lifetime” warranties prorate (shrink) over time and exclude labor. The Golden Pledge covers materials on a non-prorated basis and includes workmanship — the part most homeowners get stuck paying for.

What it means for you: It’s our recommended, premium warranty option (available at additional cost). If a covered defect ever shows up, the fix — materials and labor — is protected, and the coverage transfers if you sell your home.

CertainTeed ShingleMaster™

What it is: A credential from CertainTeed, a major U.S. shingle manufacturer, recognizing contractors trained to their installation standards.

What it means: ShingleMaster status reflects verified product knowledge and installation quality, and it unlocks CertainTeed’s extended manufacturer warranties.

Why it’s important: Many roof failures trace back to installation, not the shingle. This certification confirms the crew knows how to install CertainTeed systems correctly.

What it means for you: If you choose CertainTeed materials, your roof qualifies for stronger, longer manufacturer coverage — and is installed by a contractor the manufacturer recognizes.

Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor

What it is: The top tier of Owens Corning’s contractor network. Only a small percentage of their contractors reach Platinum.

What it means: It requires meeting strict standards for professionalism, reliability, and craftsmanship — and it unlocks Owens Corning’s best warranty options.

Why it’s important: Platinum Preferred contractors can offer enhanced coverage and have demonstrated a consistent record of quality work.

What it means for you: Choosing Owens Corning materials through Roov means premium warranty coverage and an installer held to the manufacturer’s highest standard.

FORTIFIED Roof™

What it is: A building standard developed by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) to make roofs more resistant to severe weather like high wind and hail.

What it means: FORTIFIED goes beyond standard building code, focusing on the details — sealed roof deck, enhanced edges, and proper attachment — that keep roofs intact in a storm.

Why it’s important: Southwest Missouri sees real storms. A FORTIFIED-built roof is engineered to hold up to the weather that damages ordinary roofs.

What it means for you: Better protection in severe weather, and in many cases potential insurance premium savings for a roof built to the FORTIFIED standard.
